ABOUT THE STUDENT AUDITIONS
Each year The Tampa Bay Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing hosts its Spring Student Auditions, an exciting experience where singers perform and receive written feedback about their performances. Divisions are available in classical and music theater genres, and are open to students who study with any active, participating member of the TBNATS Chapter. The event begins with a preliminary round, in which students sing for a panel of adjudicators and (as space permits) a small audience. Finalists in the adjudications are invited to perform again for everyone present; these singers are eligible to compete for prizes, including the Annetta Y. Monroe Special Award for Most Promising Singer; all finalists are also invited to represent the Tampa Bay area at the NATS Southeastern Regional Auditions. The Student Adjudications are designed to nurture singers at various levels of voice study, from Pre-High School (for comments only) to High School through Young Artist and Adults in continuing studies.

TBNATS STUDENT AUDITIONS ELIGIBILITY
Teacher and Student Eligibility: Students must study with a teacher who is a current member of both NATS and the Tampa Bay NATS Chapter, and their teacher (or chapter-approved substitute) must be participating in the auditions as an adjudicator. Teachers may only bring students from their voice studio; studios cannot be combined; this is to ensure that we have enough adjudicators for the auditions. Additional age and repertoire requirements are posted in the guidelines.
TBNATS STUDENT AUDITIONS GUIDELINES and APPLICATIONS
Please note that significant revisions have been approved for Regional and Chapter use in the 2010 Auditions. Make sure you read the new Guidelines below and use only 2010 forms to apply to this event.

Additional instructions will be provided to adjudicators at the event.

A NOTE ABOUT CHANGING REPERTOIRE
Repertoire Substitution: Please read the Auditions Guidelines carefully and list the music you intend to sing. If you need to make a repertoire substitution, the Teacher of the student may contact the Auditions Chair (mailto:tbnats@scaredofthat.com) with this request up to one week prior to the Auditions. No changes may be made to repertoire after this date, or during the auditions themselves.
EVENT ACCOMPANISTS
Staff Accompanists: To promote fairness and efficient scheduling, staff accompanists accompany all singers at the TBNATS auditions, and will be assigned to singers by category. The 2010 Staff Accompanists include: Benjamin Payne, Lurray Myers, Lee Dougherty Ross, and Tara Richards-Swartzbaugh. Recommendations for staff accompanists for future events are always welcome.
