Behold the Bat

I've investigated and explored a variety of bat-habitats, including bridges, caves, and culverts. I've built, painted and installed bat houses, and reviewed plans for bat-management practices. I've also given presentations about bats, trapped bats, tracked bats, and learned how to mark bats for scientific study. As a student I worked for Bat Conservation International, an organization dedicated to studying and protecting bat species around the world.

Mr. Bat Fact

These photos were taken in a South Texas culvert near IH-35. I was there to help survey whether the bats were using the artificial roosts BCI put in. The bat species are Myotis velifer or common name of Cave Myotis. Photo credits: Brian Keeley.
